Deputy Headteacher

Pay Scale: Leadership Spine L8 – 12 (£56,082 – £61,882) - Full Time (Permanent)
Required for Summer term 2024
The Governing Body of Kennet Valley Primary School is seeking to appoint a dynamic new Deputy Headteacher to work closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to ensure that our ‘good’ school continues to improve.
Kennet Valley Primary School is a one-form entry primary school on the outskirts of Reading and with easy access to the M4 motorway. At Kennet Valley, we aim to nurture the whole child and inspire children to fulfil their academic, social and creative potential. We pride ourselves in our welcoming, inclusive and supportive ethos. Our teachers provide an interesting, engaging and stimulating curriculum, enhanced by a warm and wonderful learning environment. The quality of the school curriculum was recognised in our ‘good’ Ofsted Inspection of November 2019.
We are looking for:
- A caring, inclusive teacher who would keep our children at the heart of all that is done at the school;
- A consistently good/outstanding practitioner with a proven record of ensuring pupils make progress;
- Someone to play a major part in securing outstanding practice across the school;
- Someone to lead our Assessment systems, ensuring information on pupil progress is used to improve teaching and learning;
- A clear communicator with experience of sharing effective practice;
- A desire to make a difference, raise standards and improve outcomes for all;
- Someone who can motivate, inspire and empower others, taking responsibility for some Performance Management;
- A commitment to developing strong relationships with pupils, parents and the wider community;
- High expectations of self and others.
